Redlands is a leading Sydney independent school that offers an educational experience designed to inspire individual achievement and confidence for life. The Pre-school - Year 12 Co-educational School is situated in Cremorne on Sydney's Lower North Shore. Redlands provides an extensive range of opportunities - academic, sports, creative, outdoor education, service - for students to learn, achieve and develop their unique skills and talents.
Gruden were approached by Redlands with a brief to completely redesign their existing website and to propose and implement a suitable Content Management System (CMS). Redlands had very clear requirements in terms of their objectives for the site and their target audience which enabled the creative team to really focus on these details when creating their designs.
The new site is designed to offer information about the school and associated events to parents, students and alumni. In particular, it was important to ensure that prospective students and parents could access all the information they need about the school to allow them to make an informed decision. With this in mind, the following features were incorporated into the site:
1. Location Map A Google Map tool has been incorporated into the site to allow users to view the location of each of the Redlands campuses.
2. Virtual Tours Users can get a real feel for Redlands by viewing each of the locations through the panoramic virtual tours module.
3. Videos There are several videos on the site giving an insight into the vibrancy of Redlands life. FarCry was selected as the most suitable CMS due to its open source licensing and its ease of use. Since launching the site Redlands staff have confirmed that it is easier to use than their previous CMS and has greater functionality.
The new look Redlands site went live in August and has been receiving positive feedback from students, parents and teachers alike.
