For over 35 years, Agrisearch Services have been offering scientific research and development services to the agricultural sector. This encompasses consulting, testing and education services across a large consumer base, including farmers, distributors, insurance companies, solicitors, industry research corporations and government bodies.
These contracts can at times cover many different research projects per customer and with a large customer base, the new challenge for Agrisearch was to make the research documentation easily available online for all contracts.
Gruden worked with Agrisearch to understand each customer scenario to design the most cost effective and usable solution to meet all of their needs for the provision of customer documentation online. Gruden developed a secure online client area for Agrisearch, which accommodated both a secure client area for access to research documentation and a back end for Agrisearch to easily upload documents to a unique client area.
Clients are allocated usernames and passwords and through a browser (a visible link from the main website www.agrisearch.com.au), log in and access their documents. Once logged in, the client can view in chronological date order & download all documents. To protect the confidentiality of multiple trials within a company, security can be set to a trial level, in addition to the company and department level.
The main objectives of this project were all met by producing a scalable solution, allowing for non technical users on the client end to easily access documentation and Agrisearch employees to easily upload research documentation to relevant client areas.
The application is built in ColdFusion, a proven flexible and robust development language
